omg my work has been crazy this week

we provide technical support and maintenance to a leading supermarket's home shopping department, and the amount of calls logged this week is insane. usually take around 1000 calls per week, in 4 days we took 1400, with tomorrow being the busiest day still to come

just thought id give u all an update seeing as ive been quiet all week, its because ive been working 12+ hours per day and have been going to bed pretty much as soon as i get in

'home shopping department' means what? ppl call in to purchase food and household items for home delivery?

Ah, that's much nicer than the phone. That was tried here (called Web Van) but it eventually failed a cpl of yrs ago when the fuel costs skyrocketed. There were simply too many miles between the shipping locations and the customers' homes.

That business model prob requires a certain population density to make it viable.

quite possibly.. it helps that there are 320 odd stores in UK from the supermarket that we support.

3 out of our "big four" supermarkets do home delivery (the big four cover something like 75% of all grocery sales in the UK)
